The St. Vincent De Paul Kitchen

Organized in1983, THE ST. VINCENT DE PAUL KITCHEN, located at 39 East Jackson Street, Wilkes-Barre, provides a daily meal for anyone who is hungry. In a comfortable and inviting atmosphere, the KITCHEN not only offers a hot meal to nourish the body, but a quiet sanctuary to enrich the spirit.

Also located on site is a FOOD BANK which supplies emergency dry food goods to families; a CLOTHING ROOM which distributes used, clothing to anyone in need; AND primary health care and prevention services, the MCKINNEY CLINIC, operated by the Rural Health Corporation of Northeast PA.

Another project under this component is THE GABRIEL HOUSE, a residence for women and single mothers with an infant/toddler, located at 13 WILLIAM STREET, PITTSTON. This program offers single rooms and efficiency apartments in a safe and affordable environment. Life skills, career information and referral to community services are offered in conjunction with housing opportunities.
